Reviews for Sage and Sweetgrass
![]() Marianne Evans
What I love about reading a series is following the lives and loves of those we've met previously. Like most series entries, Sage & Sweetgrass stands on its own as a wonderful and fulfilling book, but it will, I believe, leave you yearning to catch up with Moselle and Eric, and Rainn and Geneve from Moselle's Insurance and Rainn on My Parade. Sage & Sweetgrass is the third installment of Peery's Frivolities series, which revolves around the lives and loves of the woman who run this unique antique, gifts and coffee shop. Lanae Petersen is on the rebound after an illness, and looking for love in the classifieds. Instead, she comes upon an advertisement for an oak dressing table for sale. Intrigued, thinking it would make a wonderful addition to the store, she makes an appointment to see the item. That's when her life, and heart, crosses with that of Sage Diamond. Sage is a widow, just like Lanae, having lost his wife to a battle with illness that leaves him wary of falling in love with a woman who isn't functioning at 100% - and, since Lanae has recovered from Hepatitis C, he plays his attraction to her very cool, yet in terms that are undeniable as the reader falls into the story and cheers them on. The tender voice and loving romance of Sage & Sweetgrass won me over completely. LoRee is a deft writer, skilled at immersing her readers into the depths of both setting and plot. I highly recommend this heart-touching story!! Mary Manners – 5 stars LoRee Peery has done it again with this touching story of love overcoming the fear of loss and heartache. With a deft pen, she draws the reader into the romance of Lanae and Sage. I felt such emotion as I watched the story unfold that I couldn't put it down. Ms. Peery has a true gift for telling thought-provoking and emotion-packed romances. Simply lovely. Donna B. Snow Just imagine, nothing to lose, living life to its fullest while clinging to God's love. Isn't this what we're all supposed to do? This is what Lanae vows to do. And in freeing herself to live, she frees herself to love - and to teach others to love as fully as she does. I loved the mystery surrounding the antique desk and the way it tied in with Sage's family, the happenstance of it all - just the way God works in all our lives. I loved the fact that Lanae stepped out and took the chance on looking for love in such an impulsive way. And I especially loved the way she was willing to accept God's will for her life in everything from her disease to how she would spend the remainder of her life. God bless you, Miss Peery for sharing this wonderful journey of finding love while clinging to the greatest love of all. Clare Revell – 5 stars I absolutely loved this one. It kept me riveted to my kindle from the get go. The third in the Frivolities series, LoRee Peery has woven an amazing tale of love the second time around. Lanae is determined to live life to the full and has thrown herself into the shop she owns with her sister and niece, yet she yearns for the love they’ve found, the kind she used to know with her husband before his death. Answer an ad in the paper and buying a vanity unit from cowboy Sage offers her that. Or does it? Sage is still mourning his wife, several years after her death. Living in the past to protect his family from the sordid truth, he doesn’t want Lanae’s interference in raking over the coals of the skeletons in the closet. Woven into this is the love story of the letters. Lives torn apart by a series of actions beyond anyone’s control. With its amazing characters, setting so real I could see it unfold in my head like a movie, this one has definitely gone back into my TBR pile. A heart-warming story of love, loss and hope you don’t want to miss. Reviews for Rainn on My Parade

I did not read the first book in this series but that did not detract from fully enjoying Rainn on my Parade. Now that I read Rainn and Geneva’s story, I am looking forward to reading about Moselle and Eric and LoRee’s third book in this Frivolities Series, Sage and Sweetgrass. From the moment I first met Geneva and Rainn; their romantic tension sizzled across the pages in a way that showed their intense attraction, but also their desire to remain pure. I can’t remember the last time I read a Christian romance novel where the love between the two main characters sizzled so much. It was refreshing to read about such real and down to earth characters, yet be so captivated by their love story. The secondary characters in this book were well crafted and I enjoyed reading about them, but every time Geneva and Rainn came back into the picture, they commanded my attention. Ms. Peery’s ability to create such a romantic storyline in the midst of a real life, engaging setting, has truly set the bar for future books that I read. I will definitely be reading more of her books! Review by Marissa at The Fictional Bookshelf I loved every word of this inspirational romance. Rainn and Geneva’s characters were amazing. Their struggle to find peace with one another had me giggling, crying and praying that it would all work out. This book took a lot of courage to write. Not only is there the romantic struggle between the hero and heroine, we get a unique inside look at raising a child with a disability. Mia, the child in question, was also very lovable. I just wanted to reach into the pages and give her a big hug! The primary characters and secondary characters were award wining. The terrific plot that pulled daily aggravations, aging, sickness, disability and family matters all together was beyond my wildest imaginations. The skill it took to make the story seem so real and inspirational I can barely begin to fathom. Spoiler Alert! When Mia, the autistic six year old, finally managed to catch the cat, I wanted to jump for joy. That particular section of the book was so sweet. I loved how Geneva and Mia formed an almost instant bond although Geneva was unsure of herself. Her worries had me asking would I feel the same way if I was put in her shoes. I loved how Rainn was caring and supportive for his niece and the fact he gave something to Geneva that she never experienced from a man - love. Thank you LoRee Peery for creating such a wonderful thought provoking story! *This review was shared on Goodreads and Barnes & Noble. Reviews for Moselle's Insurance![]() 5 teacup review from Happily Ever After
This story ... reminds us that everything is in God's timing, not ours. Even though our path may lead us astray from God, once you have accepted him in your heart and soul he is never away from us. He waits patiently for us to accept the love he gives freely. This story show us that God loves us and wants only the best for us even if we don't know what the best is. This story is a true love story of God. I loved the characters and the setting of the town. ~ Reviewed by Wendy at Happily Ever After 5 star review from Brenda Talley Moselle’s Insurance by LoRee Peery Inspirational romance ....This is my first experience with Ms. LoRee Peery but I hope it will not be my last. She has a distinct way of writing which absolutely gripped my attention. Her characters are dynamic, vibrant people who love God and, previously had loved each other. This book is a full-length novel which delved into the characters more deeply than shorter stories. She carried us through their deepest depths of despair and their ultimate times of joy. Ms. Peery’s secondary characters are also clearly defined. It gives the impression that we, the readers, are there inside the novel with them. Her views on Christianity and serving God are presented in a concise, understandable way which an unbeliever could read and enjoy. She gets her point across without being overly preachy. I highly recommend this book by Ms. Peery. It will certainly be a hit and is written so that anyone can read it. Look for this author to obtain high recognition. Reviews for Found in the Woods

Reviews for Found in the Woods
May 13, 2013 from Sally Shupe "I just came across LoRee Peery’s books the other day. After reading Found in the Woods, I am now a fan for life! LoRee Peery does an awesome job of weaving a story of faith, trust, love, and overcoming fear into characters that you care about in a book that you will not be able to put down. I tuned everything out while reading this book, realizing that time had passed as I was lost in the pages. Beth Phillips is running from an abusive ex-husband, a past that she can’t change, and an unknowable future. She runs to a secluded cabin to hide and draw closer to God. Aiden Holt is following rumors of a wolf; as he tries to capture the wolf, he realizes he has lost his heart to Beth; however, he has a past and secrets of his own. Can they get past their fears and their past that has shaped them, to trust God fully and overcome their fear? All through this book, LoRee Peery gives us wisdom to use in our everyday struggle to live for God. “Knowing the Lord doesn’t promise a storm-free life. But it is the sweetest guarantee that I don’t have to face life alone. His grace carries me through anything I face. That’s in Isaiah forty-three.” She even gives you scriptures to back up what she is saying to help you in your walk. “Jesus is everything I need at any given moment. Strength, courage, shelter, inspiration.” No matter what you are going through, Jesus is all you need. People can make choices that mess up somebody else’s plans and their actions impact our lives, but whatever happens, God is bigger than anything we’ll face. There is nothing you can do about your past; trust God with your future. Having a personal relationship with Him is knowing that He is guiding your steps. Why is “Do not be afraid” the most repeated command in the Bible? Fear is paralyzing; it takes faith, trust, and love to overcome fear. The twists and turns in this story will take you on a journey of overcoming paralyzing fear by faith, trust, and love. This book is for anyone who has experienced fear and anyone who loves a great Christian romance. I cannot wait to read more by this author!" ~ 5 stars The complete package Found in the Woods, Ms. Peery's fourth novel has the complete package. It was worth the wait to read Beth's story. Even as a minor character in the first three novels, she was an intriguing character. As Beth works through her healing process she is guided by her faith in the One true God of the Bible. Aiden's past hurts have taken him away from God. His spiritual journey will be familiar to many readers. The story of healing is at the forefront, as it should be. Beth and Aiden's romance, while important, doesn't overwhelm the storyline. This was an excellent read! --Anonymous posted on Nook store ~ 5 stars Beth is so sweet, and the spiritual growth you see in her at every turn is a joy to behold. And the wolf...I love him! I can just imagine staring into his eyes the way she does. Their little dance made me laugh (you'll have to read it yourself). And Aiden is such a tender soul. You can hear the longing, feel his need for God with every thought and every word. And his protectiveness over Beth is heartwarming. What a wonderful story – the best one of the series yet! --Donna B. Snow ~ 5 stars Found in the Woods is a masterful story filled with hope, faith, and healing. Beth and Aiden are on a journey to find healing from past hurts and their place in life. Lakota, the wolf they befriend, is a strong symbol of all they struggle with. Beth's strong faith guides her through difficult times as her abusive ex-husband is in pursuit and she tries to overcome a feeling of unworthiness. Secondary characters have depth and bring much to the storyline. I loved to watch Aiden come into faith due to Beth's strong example. There is much to love about this story and the entire Frivolities series! --Mary Manners From Clare Revell The fourth in the series doesn't disappoint. It has a heroine who is struggling to overcome her past and refusing to let it control her. A hero who has his own problems yet is willing to set them aside to protect someone else. And a wolf! Lakota is as much a character as any of the others and brings a depth to this story that you don't expect. Certainly a book to curl up with on a warm summer evening in the woods. Because you never know what you might find there. Reviews for Lezlie's Lifeline

Donna B. Snow — 5 Stars Great story with lovable characters! Jordan is a wonderful man who leans on God in ways we all hope to in real life. And Lezlie, full of human weakness, has learned to allow God to do the leading in her life - even when the way is unexpected and a bit frightening. Although the story is short, I really enjoyed it. Nice job! Clare Revell says In Frivolities book five, we catch up with Lezlie, Sage's daughter. The book, by very nature of being a dollar download is a quick read at just 34 pages. However, those 34 pages are packed with action, drama and romance in a way that pulls you in and just doesn't let you up for air. It's got the awww moments and the heart stopping moments, not to mention the 'the author did what???' moments. We meet new characters as well as the old friends from the previous books. This one has gone straight back into my TBR pile. If you love LoRee Peery's books, don't miss this one. |
Reviews for A Blessed Blue Christmas

Delia Latham
Dahlia Delisi and Sloan Letheby were high school sweethearts. Life got in the way, leaving Dahlia hurt and bitter against the God she once loved above all else. She buries herself in The Blue Dahlia, the business an inheritance from her grandmother made possible. Then Sloan walks back into her life and turns it upside down. He’s on a mission to stop a murder that may be connected to someone in Dahlia’s life, but that mission becomes entangled with the kindling of their dormant feelings for each other. Sloan must protect someone dear to Dahlia while convincing her she can trust him this time…and praying for the softening of her heart toward the God Who is now Sloan’s most meaningful relationship.
LoRee Peery brings a sweet, touching romance with a touch of suspense. As always with this author’s work, it unquestionably well-written, and Peery has mastered the art of creating a storyline that honors God while still painting a realistic picture of attraction and passion. I thoroughly enjoyed this quick, easy read.

Another wonderful Christmas story! I love stories with strong female characters, and Dahlia is definitely one of those. She's built up a business on her own after losing her faith in not just people, but in God. She's worked hard to stand on her own after her losses.
Then Sloan steps back into her life, and he is definitely on a mission. He has to deal with business first, but then he's determined to teach her to trust once again.
