Oh, how I have waited for May, 2024. The nonfiction I began in 2020, devotional poetry, releases.
I’ve gone through another season of pain. God always knows what He is doing, but that head and neck business was too intense for me to write. I mostly reclined, read, and rested.
So I am ever more grateful for the four journals I filled while crying out to and praising my Lord. He meets you and me where we are and fulfills our needs. If we are open, HE works through us despite our frailties, giving us strength beyond ourselves.

Wait for the Lord
Over the years I’ve waited
In too many waiting places
Three years to get married
But it was worth the wait
Over 40 years for a finished home
—that never was done or updated
Over 40 years, “Who killed my father?”
—still no resolution
I didn’t write for 18 months
While I looked for an agent
It took ten years of trying
To get my first novel published
Now I’ve waited five years to move
Off an acreage that is too much
My latest waiting place:
Three months for a repeat surgery.
Through discouragement my soul
Finds encouragement in God’s Word
A treasure in my heart
Your Word gives me joy
I go to You for safety
You shelter me in the storm
I call out to the Lord
He hears my call, and answers.
