Thanks to the hard work involved with following a dream, Ginger Ring and Linda Rae Sande have planned and hosted Wild Deadwood Reads since 2018. “Where Books are Legendary” first drew me as a reader. I met fellow White Rose Publishing authors Delia Latham, Mary Manners, Marianne Evans, and Tanya Stowe. Not to mention, I made friends with Renette Steele, Sharon Dean, Sheila Holman, and Renee Blare.
Well, I could go on and on about the wonderful people who write with passion because it’s our calling. And I met new friends in 2019, (canceled in ’20), 2021, and was delighted to visit with yet more Christian writers who set up tables in 2022.
This year I will have copies of my only novel (so far) set outside Nebraska. Courting Country takes place on a fictitious ranch just a bit north of I-90 in South Dakota. I so look forward to reconnecting with wonderful writers I know from Nebraska and Iowa who plan to attend for the first time.

The Lodge at Deadwood is an excellent venue. I always appreciate the workers behind the scenes. The planning, the setting up of tables, the event involves a ton of man and woman hours.
Oh, and there’s chocolate. My mouth is watering at this moment. Chubby Chipmunk Hand-Dipped Chocolates designed a melt-in-your-mouth bar specifically that honors WDR.
This year’s event takes place June 17th. The signing is Free! First attenders receive a commemorative book that details attending authors. To discover more, or read about your favorite author, go to
