Refrains from songs we sang Easter Sunday morning still loop through my thoughts. I thank God for songwriters. There is power in lyrics that proclaim our great God.
Since Jesus ascended to heaven, His people, believers, are the light in a dark world. What we do with words can, and should, shine a light on Jesus.
Christian writers pray for their readers. Many times over, we authors have no idea how God can, and does, use our words. If our God can grow a mustard seed into a tree, He can do anything we give back to Him. We spotlight God by using our gifts and talents for others, no matter how small we think they are.
You don’t have to be a writer. Or a preacher. Or a singer. Or famous in any way. Each of us is uniquely fashioned by the Creator of the universe. Use God-given gifts and abilities to give glory to God.
The Lord wants us to make a difference no matter how small you consider yourself. The simple act of meeting someone’s gaze with a smile can be huge to a hurting soul. Such a small act could be worth more than gold. A smile or gesture turns darkness into light, even for a moment. We serve a mighty God and He can do wonders with little.
What is your divine mission? For years, I asked God in the morning what He wanted me to do that day. Now, I view it more as His assignment for me. It can seem an insignificant act to me, but we can choose to allow the Holy Spirit to shine through us. Sometimes I’m unaware of the Holy Spirit’s leading as I’m acting out a small or large task. If He gave me that assignment, He’ll take it from there.
Anytime we take our eyes off self and give glory to the Lord, He fills us with joy. And shines a light in a dark world.
it gives understanding to the simple.
Words are Light
Even a child
Has understanding
Clear words bring light
Understand as a child
Set aside wealth
Set aside standing
Open your heart
Absorb the light
The Lord is light
Pray for clarity
He is patient
Heed His calling
Joy erases darkness
His Word is light.
